CHRIS
In 2003, Chris Nowinski was on top of the world. After an All-Ivy football career at Harvard University, Chris became the youngest Hardcore Champion in the history of WWE.
But a series of concussions in the ring ended his career and changed his life forever. Researching how to stop his daily headaches and treat new neurological disorders, he discovered that the NFL was playing the role of Big Tobacco in downplaying the seriousness of concussions.
Chris wrote the investigative expose Head Games: Football’s
Concussion Crisis in 2006, then co-founded the Concussion Legacy Foundation and the UNITE Brain Bank at Boston University CTE Center. He became a social entrepreneur leading a global conversation on concussions, CTE, and the future of sports while earning a Ph.D. in behavioral neuroscience.
VICE Sports called Dr. Nowinski “the man most responsible for making CTE part of the national conversation,” and Sports Illustrated said, “it is Nowinski's figure which looms behind the doctors and the headlines and the debate roiling over sports' newfound commitment to minimizing head trauma.”
Invite Chris to inspire your audience with his story and show them that adversity is just opportunity in disguise. You audience will learn that with a resilient mindset, you too can create the change you want to see in the world.
